Punowtie Sudary Obituary

Punowtie "BD Gyal" Sudary (October 12th, 1939 - October 10th, 2024) was a kind, jovial, persevering individual who loved her family and put others before herself. She was born in Port Mourant, Guyana to the late Pandit Deopersaud Matabick and the late Minawatie Deopersaud. She married the late Anirude Sudary in 1955 and moved to 50 Village, Guyana. In 1983, she emigrated to New York and settled in East Elmhurst, Queens, where she worked first as a seamstress and later as a home health aide. Punowtie was blessed with a very large family, which included 11 siblings, 7 children, 22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She will be deeply missed by all who love her. It was always an honor knowing her and the radiant soul that she was.
