Obituary of Juana V. Sanchez Escobar

Juana Vicenta Sánchez Escobar, affectionately known as Juanita, passed away on June 9, 2024, in her hometown of Howard Beach, NY. Born to Jose and Vicenta Escobar on December 13,1943 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She was a beacon of light and the adoration of her family and friends. Juana was a cherished member of the Sanchez Escobar family, sister to Luis Gomez, Cristina Aleman and Trotsky Escobar she was married to the late Teodoro Sanchez. Juana's love extended to her four children, Juana (Rocio) Rosado, Luis Sánchez, Roberto Sánchez, and Cynthia Gallegos, who remember her as a nurturing soul, loving and caring mother. Her eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alondra, Austin, Alyssa, Arielle, Alexa, Jocelyn and Joseph, will carry her legacy of kindness and joy. Juana will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile that always filled the room. A woman that enjoyed life and dancing and would always be there for anyone who would need her help. Services to honor and celebrate the life of Juana Vicenta Sánchez Escobar will be held on June 14, 2024, at Leahy-McDonald Funeral Home, located at 111-02 Atlantic Ave, Richmond Hill, NY. Following the service, Juana will be cremated, and her ashes laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, NY at a later date to be determined. Juana Vicenta Sánchez Escobar will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on and continue to guide and inspire all who loved her and were blessed to have known her.
