Kalawati Ramrattan Singh, 86, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away

peacefully in her sleep on June 2, 2026. She was born on November 26,

1939 in Guyana, South America to a family of four sisters and one brother.

Kalawati is remembered for her kindness and devotion to her seven

children; Sham, Sooroojdai, Ghalcowar, Kumalnauth, Prackash, Pooran,

Deorajie. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren and nine

great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seuradj

Singh and son, Sham Singh.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5th from 6pm to 9pm at the

Leahy McDonald Funeral Home in South Richmond Hill, New York. Burial

will be at Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn on Saturday.
