Ileana Grissett Obituary

Ileana Grissett was born on August 4, 1944 in Guanica, Puerto Rico to her parents, Antonio Santana Sanabria and Francisca Cruz Ortiz. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York in May of 1956 where she resided until she fell asleep in death.


Ileana was a devout Jehovah's Witness. She dedicated her life in baptism to Jehovah on August 15. 1981. She worshipped in the Bushwick, Spanish and Interborough Congregations. She loved the friends so very dearly.


Ileana will always be remembered by her faithful brothers and sisters. Matthew 19:29, states in part, "…everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters….will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit everlasting life.' She dearly loved her extended spiritual family and they loved her in return.


Ileana loved her family, music and classic movies. She spent many of her summers in La Parguera, Puerto Rico with her family. She was an amazing cook and loved to be surrounded by her loved ones. Her home was often the place where everyone gathered together and made beautiful memories.


Ileana fell asleep in death on November 26, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Paul Ralph Grissett. Her parents and her brothers, Raymond and Antonio also predeceased her in death. She is survived by her siblings, Eugenia Santana Cruz, Sigfrido

Santana and Gisela Santana.


She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Paul R. Grissett (Kristine), Joseph A. Grissett (Tamika), Alexander Grissett (Beverlyn) and Denise E. McCarter (Terrance). Her legacy will live on in her grandchildren, Briana, Jaden, Kiara, Josiah, Lucas and T.J.


Her nephews, nieces and cousins which she always had a warm smile, hugs and kisses, will miss her dearly.


The outpouring of love, support, texts, flowers, cards and most importantly, prayers are so very much appreciated by the family. We love you all!
