Brian Joseph Casey, 70, of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, from heart complications following a brief illness in Brooklyn, New York.
Brian was born February 14, 1955, in New Richmond, Wisconsin to Larry and Norine Casey. He grew up on the family dairy farm as the third of ten siblings. As a child, he had "allergies" which kept him out of the barn often, much to his siblings' chagrin. Brian graduated from New Richmond High School in 1973. He excelled in wrestling and football and was surprised to be elected Senior Class President after not attending the meeting.
Brian went on to become a proud University of Wisconsin–Madison alumnus, earning both a BS and an MBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the Wisconsin School of Business. He later returned to UW–Madison to pursue a PhD but ultimately chose to return to the private sector rather than academia.
Brian built a distinguished career in mergers & acquisitions and risk consulting, retiring from Aon in 2014 after a global tenure. Among his many roles, his favorite title was Global Operations Director—proclaiming that Aon had finally recognized him as "G.O.D."!
Brian's life was nothing short of remarkable, filled with deep connections and friendships spanning Brooklyn, Breezy Point, London, New Richmond, and beyond. He cherished time with friends and family, always accompanied by great food, drinks, and colorful stories. He loved organizing annual gatherings, including the Parkside Lounge Christmas Party, Cheesestock, holiday celebrations, and Caseypalooza. When the lights were on at the Breezy patio or the Badger flag was flying in Trego, you knew there was a party—and you were invited. If you had the honor of spending time with Brian, you likely know the lyrics to Danny Boy, It's Hard to Be Humble, the Flintstones Theme Song, and Varsity.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Norine Casey; infant brothers James, Martin, and Richard; and many relatives and friends.
Brian's Irish wit and wisdom will be missed by his vast network of family and friends, including his longtime partner in crime Fran Cappella; siblings; Steve (Doris) Casey, Bill (Lillis) Casey, Lee (Anne) Casey, Tony Casey, Mary Lou (Jeff) Bean, Terry (Kathy) Casey, Kathleen (Mike) Young, Jane (Jerry) Larson and Joe (Michelle) Casey; nieces and nephews; Jeff (Melissa), Scott (Amy), Jackie (Nick), Andy (Stephanie), Jolene, Shannon, Lindsey, Claire, Harriet, Madelaine; great nieces and nephews; Hayden, Kyle, Sydney, Aubrey, Cash and Callee; and, an aunt; Rosemary Gillis; as well as many close friends and family, including; Bill and Diane Evans, and Tom Ziegel.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship is being established at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to honor Brian's wishes and his charitable nature – details will be shared when available.
Condolences can be sent to Terry Casey, PO Box 939, New Glarus, Wisconsin 53574.
A celebration of life will be held at Ready Randy's (aka Casey's Corner) in New Richmond, Wisconsin on Sunday, November 23 from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Friends and family are encouraged to share stories beginning at 1:00pm.
